The Big Shed has just got charitable status & is in the process of transferring the building and other assets to it. (It's a legal process, so it won't happen instantly.).   Meanwhile you may notice some minor changes on the website.

The Big Shed Loch Tay

The Big Shed on Loch Tay in Highland Perthshire is our bright, modern, community building.

It provides affordable work and meeting spaces for locals, for community groups, for social enterprises, for small businesses, and for private individuals. Sustainability, particularly sustainable rural livelihoods, is high on our agenda  so we're keen to encourage people from beyond the local area, who promote creative, one-planet lifestyles, or engage in environmental improvement and protection,  to use the building.

Our timber-framed eco-building was built using local, natural, renewable and reclaimed and recycled materials. In 2013 it shared top spot with the Scottish National Portrait Gallery as joint winner of the Low Carbon Building Award.

The Big Shed sits within a tiny rural settlement, at the heart of Tombreck Farm. The farm is adjacent to the Ben Lawers National Nature Reserve, and we enjoy uninterrupted views over Loch Tay. On site, you'll find a sandy lochside beach, natural woodlands, large open spaces and mountains, all rich in flora, fauna and archaeological heritage.

The Big Shed Loch Tay is  a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, (SCIO054581).
