Facilities

The Big Shed at Tombreck is a multi-use eco-building with outstanding facilities, in a truly inspirational setting overlooking Loch Tay. On our doorstep, you'll find a sandy lochside beach, natural woodlands large open spaces and mountains, all rich in flora, fauna and archaeological heritage.  Tombreck is on the lower slopes of Ben  Lawers, a National Nature Reserve.

The grassy area right outside the Big Shed is perfect for a marquee, camping or outdoor games, and you'll find excellent B&Bs, campsite and self-catering options within a three-mile radius. The fully equipped hall, kitchen, and meeting rooms are available for commercial and private bookings, and there's also a small farm shop on site, selling organically produced foods straight from the farm  (eggs, veg, jam and meat – including wild venison in season).

Even the water here is special!  It comes straight from the hill, via a simple treatment plant to remove grit and microbes.

Main Hall

The hall is designed to be as flexible as possible. Events here have included fitness and dance classes, repair workshops, rural-themed conferences, parties, business meetings, concerts and rural touring. We also support small businesses with ventures including jam-making/preserves, bread and baking, healthy living, and pop-up cafés combined with bus or walking tours. We're always open to your ideas – get in touch to discuss!

Commercial Kitchen and Bakery

The kitchen and adjacent commercial bakery have been specifically designed to comply with commercial hygiene regulations, and have been used in commercial food preparation (sausage, haggis, preserves, bread), as well as by outside caterers and self-caterers. They offer an ideal facility for the small business. Our biggest catering event so far has been a 200-guest wedding with marquee, and a tipi would certainly be a feasible option. Facilities include:

  • 6 burner gas hob and oven, plus separate bakery oven
  • Fridges and freezer
  • Deep fat fryer, grill, cookware and utensils
  • Crockery, cutlery and glassware for 60 people
  • Self-catering and outdoor catering possible

Small Kitchen / Social Area

This small area next to the hall has a kettle, small fridge, large table and plenty of mugs and glasses. It makes an ideal green room, chill-out area or social space.

Outdoor area

  • Grassy area 35m x 25m, suitable for activities, camping or marquee pitch or all three!!
  • Firepit for open fire cooking and for camp fires
  • Outdoor table and benches
  • Other tables and chairs can be used outdoors
